Cc - Your Body Knows (JSMIX001)

Recorded live at home straight from vinyl to cassette, this inaugural 53-minute mix from Atlanta-bred, Savannah, Georgia-based producer Chris Powers, a.k.a. Cc, quickly dives deep into the heart of the music and history of Chicago and Detroit while simultaneously touching on and itemizing all of the characteristics that make up Cc’s own very unique sound and Southern touch. An homage to house music and classic mix tape culture, Your Body Knows moves through decades of the genre’s development, the 4-to-the-floor kick front-and-center as the starting point in entering a realm of deep syncopation - a showcase of Powers’ ear as much as it is a testament to his improvisational skills as a DJ. More of a singular piece than simply a collection of tracks, Powers creates a world of essential rhythm and invites you to unlock the primal jack your body knows so well. 

Cc’s debut release, Up Wind EP, will be released via JASS on June 19, 2012.
